Eat, Drink, And Be Scary

Beau's Second Annual Girl's Pumpkin Carving Party

Last year I hosted eight girls in my backyard for an intimate night of treats and pumpkin carving - That has since turned into an annual event growing to almost twenty women this year! With my  closest girlfriends, we celebrated Halloween with a fabulous potluck dinner, that included salads, pizza, pastas, and of course the dessert table… glutenous is the word that comes to mind. I gave all the girls a heads up before the party that I was going to be shooting head shots, and no one had expected I would shoot them with my vintage polaroid, and feature everyone for the launch of my new website. Without the support of these women, I could not have put this new website together, so I dedicate this new site to all the women you see above. To me, these women represent : love, friendship, strength, compassion, courage, intelligence, generosity, laughter, and intelligence.

"Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he/she really is."

Happy Halloween!

Haute Messes xoxo

U.S Grant Hotel

The concept behind "Haute Messes" was created by my dear friend stylist Adrienne Saks, photographer Matthew K Dunn, and myself. Its very rarely that you find yourself among creative individuals, that you can call your close friends. We shot at the U.S Grant Hotel in San Diego, in their presidential penthouse. Unlike most shoots this was one of the best days of creative freedom that led us all over the presidential penthouse that we had taken over for this two day shoot. The concept was based on the ultimate glam party girl, think Gossip Girl, and I was able to develop the character through environment, the styling, and a whole lot of attitude.

Beau's World

Genlux Magazine

I received a call from Cecilia and Stephen over at Genlux Magazine with a proposal to create illusion magic, with the brilliant photographer, Andrew Matusik. The concept entailed me living in my own world created with beauty products. I was blown away, and honored they would ask me to shoot such a special editorial. Genlux flew in world famous makeup artist, and my dear friend, Joanne Gair in from New York, which made the shoot even more special - definitely one of my all time favorites!

Mac Chromacake Pure White, Mac Chromacake Black Black

Robin Black is not only a good friend, but one of the most talented make up artists, hair stylists and photographers. Basically, she's a jack of all trades - and AMAZING at it all! I called Greg up while hanging at Robin's and 20 minutes later we had the MAC Chromacakes out. Greg painted his infamous SKULL and "MARSHMELLOW" man on my face, while Robin worked on Greg's face. Such a fun day of creating artwork with friends.

O.Ballou is an Italian hand tailored menswear company based out of London and Italy. O.Ballou manufactures their clothing with the most luxurious materials including cashmere, silk, and organic cottons. I did a fun collaboration with the company with their new collection of men's cashmere sweaters - that happen to be the perfect "boyfriend" sweater for women. The sweaters come in stunning pastel colors, along with classic colors including black, grey and navy. Not only am I a huge fan and a collector of their new collection, but you must check out their website above along with their instagram. The raw feel , logos, and branding of the company are so simple and clean, I feel they are the new front runners in a classic industry.

With the summer saying goodbye, its hard to believe winter is here. As its being so hot, I feel a bright lip from my collaboration with Beauty is Boring and Violet Files is perfectly appropriate. Winter 2014 trends have shown bright lips are here to stay through the cold. Berry and floral inspired lips along with bold brows are the staple for fall, as Cara Delevingne has proved on all the runways.

The Art of Elysium "GENESIS" 2014 Party

The Art of Elysium

The Art of Elysium hosts the "Genesis" event every year which is a celebration of emerging artists, and is a great time to bring all creatives, tastemakers and supporters together in honor of the beautiful charity. As most know, I have been working with Art of Elysium for a few years, and actually was on the host committee last year for the "Genesis" event. This year they took a different approach and hosted the event downtown at Ace Theater. The event was curated by Flaunt Magazine and Houston Hospitality. Musical guests included Soko, Moses Sumney, Mary Ocher, and Rodrigo Amarante. It was great catching up with friends and celebrating a great cause.

Down Under Photo Diary

Four Seasons Sydney // Qualia Hamilton Island

I am so excited to welcome you to the new BeauDunn.com ! I have been working very hard over the past few months to bring my friends and viewers a new experience of sharing my life with you. I always find photo diary posts a little overwhelming, as there's so much to share all in one post, but as my first post is so important, I wanted to share my amazing trip to Australia we took this summer. We started off in Sydney where we stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel. Toronga Zoo invited us to have a private tour, and get hands on with all the amazing animals - this was by far the highlight of my trip, as most of you know what an animal lover I am! We were able to take water taxi's over to the Zoo, and passed the magnificent Sydney Opera House. Of course I did some fabulous shopping in Sydney that included One Teaspoon, Zaliah , Zimmerman, Bassike , just to name a few. We dined at mouth watering restaurants, with ICEBERGS being on the top of my list … who could beat a view like that? A week and a half into our trip, we flew to Hamilton Island, up north, and checked into the luxurious Qualia Resort. We all had our own bungalows that included our own pools. The resort is located on an island called Hamilton Island, where you drive golf carts around. The first thing we planned was squeezing Koalas, which honestly was the best moment in my life. I know I may sound a little dramatic, but I have been waiting my entire life to get my hands on one of those fluffy little nuggets, and Willy was everything I dreamed of. He was cute, cuddly, and I wore my Zaliah leather jacket, that protected my arms from his long claws, so no scratches ! Qualia had us picked up at the hotel by a helicopter and brought to the great barrier reef on our last day, so we could snorkel. It was an overcast day, but as soon as we lifted in the heli, the clouds parted and the sun came out. You cannot describe in words how beautiful the reef truly is, and overall, the trip was life changing.
